Since its inception, PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Services Unit O & M Services of PLTU Belitung has started efforts to protect biodiversity inside and outside the area of its work unit, one of which is the Map of Kehati program (Greening Parks & Biodiversity Forests of PLTU Belitung). The Biodiversity Map Program is carried out in the Belitung PLTU Biodiversity Parks and Forests which have been designated as conservation areas within the Suge Belitung PLTU environment in accordance with the Decree of the Belitung PLTU Unit Manager Number: 050.K/MU/OM-BT/XII/2022 concerning Designation of Park Areas and Biodiversity Forest PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Services O & M Services Unit of PLTU Belitung.
This program includes planting, caring for and monitoring flora, especially protected flora species, plants unique to Belitung Island and plants that absorb air and noise pollution.

One of the company’s routine planting activities is reforestation in commemoration of Indonesian Tree Planting Day (HMPI) every 28 November. At the commemoration of HMPI 2022, 100 stems of cypress shrimp (Casuarina equisetifolia) were planted in the segment D area – PLTU Belitung Biodiversity Park.
Monitoring of flora in the Belitung PLTU environment is carried out once every 1 (one) year by identifying and taking an inventory of the types and quantities of flora and fauna in the Company’s conservation area to then calculate the biodiversity index (H’) using the Shannon – Wiener index method.
